Mount Kinabalu Summit Trail, 0 KM - 2 KM (until Lowii Shelter)
If you ask Sabah people what is the best and most recommended tourist attraction, I bet 99% will answer "Mount Kinabalu". Mount Kinabalu, with a height of 4095.2 Meters, is the highest mountain in South East Asia. It is very easy to climb, even for kids and old people, coz the trail is well laid out. Hiring a mountain guide is compulsory, but you can share one mountain guide with a few climbers.

You will need two days to complete the climb. On the first day, usually in the morning, you will follow a transport to go to Timpohon Gate, where you start the tour. It will take about 5 to 6 hours to reach Laban Rata Resthouse (3,272.7 Meters), on the 6th KM of the summit trail. You will stay overnight there. The climb will usually continue at 2 AM in the next morning, and requires about 4 hours to reach the summit. You will be able to enjoy watching sunrise on the highest peak (Low's Peak) if you make it on time.
