Now we have ice cream that &#8220;tastes like Sabah,&#8221; a great news to those dessert lovers who are bored with common flavors.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_1.jpg\" alt=\"ice cream of Sabah Froz Ice Creamery in different flavors\" \/><br \/>\nSo, what are those Sabah tastes? Sabah Froz Ice Creamery, the local ice cream manufacturer has invented the following new flavors after 2 years of research:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Api-Api Bandung (Rose-flavor)<\/li>\n<li>Beaufort Vanilla<\/li>\n<li>Goji Berry (or Wolfberry)<\/li>\n<li>Libaran Mango<\/li>\n<li>Ranau Teh Tarik (pulled milk tea)<\/li>\n<li>Sugut Tongkat Ali (guys know it)<\/li>\n<li>Tawau Chocolate<\/li>\n<li>Tenom Coffee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The flavors are named on their location and ingredients sourced from there. After trying the ice cream, I agree that each flavor has distinct taste.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_15.jpg\" alt=\"product description of Sabah Froz ice cream\" \/><br \/>\nPic: product label that reads &#8220;From the beginning of time, the natives of Sabah have always believed Mount Kinabalu to be a sacred place where the finest herbs and berries grew, nourished by the crystal pure mist from the mountain\u2019s summit. Today, Sabah Froz Ice Creamery carefully selects its core ingredients from the shadow of this great mountain so you too can enjoy a wondrously taste unlike other.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But the most important of all, it&#8217;s the milk that makes the big difference. Instead of using milk produced by cows reared in barns, they use fresh milk from free-grazing Hotein Friesien cows from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/wordpress\/?p=4992\">Desa Dairy Farm in foothill of Mt. Kinabalu<\/a>. Free range cows are happier hence better milk quality. Holy cow, sort of.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_3.jpg\" alt=\"jetty of Sutera Harbor\" \/><br \/>\nCurrently, you only can buy this ice cream at the first kiosk at jetty of Sutera Harbor behind Pacific Sutera Hotel of Kota Kinabalu city. You may <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com.my\/maps\/place\/5%C2%B057'59.7%22N+116%C2%B003'27.0%22E\/@5.966591,116.057512,295m\/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0?hl=en\">Click here for the Location Map<\/a>. They are working with Eu Yan Sang Malaysia, so you would find this ice cream sold in 89 outlets of Eu Yan Sang nationwide by year end (includes Peninsula Malaysia). They are also looking for retailers. You may follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Sabah-Froz\/311208309050869\">Facebook of Sabah-Froz<\/a> for update. They will have second outlet in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/oceanuskksabah\/\">Oceanus Waterfront Mall<\/a> (Kota Kinabalu) in Jun 2015.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_4.jpg\" alt=\"ice cream kiosk\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_5.jpg\" alt=\"labels of different Sabah ice cream\" \/><br \/>\nPic: This ice cream kiosk opens from <strong>7:30am to 7:30pm daily<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to have something special in your private events such as birthday party, you may contact their Customer Careline (Phone: 1-300-888-213) or Ezani (Phone: <a href=\"tel:+60145692917\">+60 14-5692917<\/a>) to order the ice cream (minimum 50 units). <strong>Goji Berry and Sugut Mocha Tongkat flavors cost RM8 (&#8776;US$2.40) per cup (size: 100ml), and other flavors are RM6 (&#8776;US$1.70) each.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_6.jpg\" alt=\"Sabah Froz ice cream in freezer\" \/><br \/>\nSabah Froz Ice Creamery has invested more than RM1 million on setting up the production line and freezer in Kota Kinabalu. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_7.jpg\" alt=\"Goji Berry ice cream of Sabah\" \/><br \/>\nSince there are many flavors, you may not know where to start. <strong>I strongly recommend Goji Berry flavor, which is the winner of the Best New Ice Cream award in the International Dairy Federation Dairy Innovation Award 2011 in Italy.<\/strong> Goji Berry is a popular herb in Chinese diet because it has anti-ageing and eye-nourishing properties, something that we really need, due to constant exposure to excessive blue light and free radicals from computer. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_8.jpg\" alt=\"Sabah ice cream\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_9.jpg\" alt=\"a scoop of Sabah ice cream\" \/><br \/>\nFrom the photos, you can tell this ice cream is dense. The taste is really smooth and deep. It&#8217;s not too sweet. The mild sour of Goji Berry blends perfectly with the sweetness of the milk, making me want to eat more. It passes my quality test and I think it can rival the premium brands. I don&#8217;t mind eating it every day (I would become a fat dude with sparkling eyes lol). <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_11.jpg\" alt=\"Sugut Mocha Tongkat ice cream\" \/><br \/>\nAnother flavor that I have tried is Sugut Mocha Tongkat.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mysabah.com\/images\/2014\/20141024_12.jpg\" alt=\"Sugut Mocha Tongkat ice cream of Sabah\" \/><br \/>\nSugut Mocha Tongkat is sweet and bitter, some may not like it.
