Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary, Sabah, Malaysia
The Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary of Sabah Borneo is one of the oldest and most successful Orangutan rehabilitation centres in the world. Orang Utan is also known as the Man of the Forest. Due to lost of forest by logging and oil palm plantation, their population is declining and many young orangutans lose their parents. Orphan Orangutans are being taught the survival skills here, then they are released to the wild. The Centre also provides regular feeding for them as an alternative food source, until they can live independently in the wild.
