The championship was held from July 25 to July 30 at Likas Sport Complex, Kota Kinabalu. About 400 fencers and officials from 20 countries (Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Philipines, Macau, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, India, Qatar, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Japan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Korea, Indonesia) took part in this event. The players competed on epee, sabre and foil, by individual and team, men and women. I am not a great fan of fencing. I went there just out of curiosity about this international event.
